12th Walsall Lifelong Learning Awards
Rugby hero and broadcaster, Austin Healey, was the guest speaker at The 12th Walsall Lifelong Learning Awards on Wednesday 17 March 2010.
Its fair to say that Austin had the audience feeding out of his hand as he delivered a talk prior to the presentations that was interesting, informative, amusing and very much about challenging and

overcoming learning barriers placed in front of you.
Over 80 nominations were received from learning providers across Walsall with so many wonderful stories of barriers being challenged and overcome in people's quest to achieve their learning goals. It really was an amazing evening that highlighted some fabulous examples of learning achievement!
The audience evaluation confirms this was one of our most successful evenings ever and the WLLA Awards continue to go from strength to strength!
WLLA takes pride in being able to provide such high profile speakers in recent years such as Austin, Jo Brand, Ruby Wax and Ben Fogle. However, this would not be possible without the ongoing sponsorship support of many local organisations and particularly our main sponsors:
Walsall Partnership;
Walsall Housing Group (whg);
NHS Walsall;
Starting Point Recruitment;
Skills Funding Agency.
